Hiding

We have been on vacation the past few days, meaning that the house hasn't been as quiet as normal during the daytime. Saké seems to have found a way to get some peace and quiet.

On the other hand, Sushi didn't seem to mind the extra activity.

Saké

Saké entertained herself this morning by playing in a towel. This picture was taken before she rolled herself up completely like a cocoon.

I also really love Sushi's little worm-like tail on the far right of the picture.

Saké

Saké cracks me up. The other night I walked into the bedroom, turned on the light, and found Saké wrapped up in a towel.

I had a bit of banana for each of the girls. Saké was interested but not enough to actually come out of her towel. She stuck her face out just far enough to grab the piece of banana and then settled back under her towel and ate.

Ratovations!

Sometimes our rats make no sense.

We woke up yesterday to find that they had taken the towel lining the bottom of the cage and shoved it into their hammock.

Step 1: Insert towel into hammock.

At the time I saw this, they were upstairs sleeping in their nest.

An hour or so later, I noticed that things were not as neat.

Step 2: Push the towel around for comfort.

The rats were no longer in their nest.

Step 3: Climb inside!

They were burrowed into the towel, and seemed quite comfortable.

Look at those teeth!

At least they keep busy!

Saké the Burrower

Saké is most active in the mornings, and as a result I am never sure what to expect when I wake up. Yesterday she completely pulled up the towel that lines the bottom of their cage and burrowed inside of it. She does this periodically. Generally she hides and then pokes her head out to surprise whoever might be near (usually Penelope).

All You Need are Towels

It takes very little to entertain the girls. Last night it was simply a basket of towels.

Sushi.

It's hard to be little when your fat sister sits on you.

Saké's face, Sushi's tail.

Sisters.

Saké has to be the cutest rat of all time. Also, note the pea shells. Cute, but messy.
